Affiliate Newbies Can Learn How to Make Money From the Internet As an Affiliate Marketer For Free
Mar 20th
Becoming an Apprentice Affiliate is absolutely FREE. Don’t let anyone else tell you differently.
Affiliate Marketing, put simply, is like being a sales rep for a business that has products and services that it sells online. To become an affiliate for a merchant selling one of these products is (in most cases) a no cost proposition. In other words, you have the ability to start off a business of your own with little or no money.
However, one of the key principles to being successful as an affiliate, (and especially when you’re a newbie and just starting out – an ‘apprentice affiliate’ as I like to call it) is to not over-complicate things. This is really quite a simple business model really.
Many people when they go hunting on the internet for a way to make money online, end up getting conned into some of the ‘get rich quick’ schemes and ads that are plentiful whenever you do a basic Google search like ’start an internet business’ or ‘make money on the internet’. Not surprisingly many people get sold about the possibilities of quick easy money on the massive internet marketplace, however this really isn’t the best way to go about learning to get started as an Affiliate Marketer.
The best tips I can offer you when you’re just starting out is to:
1) Actually write down a plan of attack, and keep your credit card in your wallet (no matter what you read about some great one time offer that’s about to expire in 5 mins)
2) As part of the plan, set aside about 2-3 weeks of research and learning. Write down words or phrases that you come across that you don’t understand, and find out what they mean.
3) Realise that part of what you are going to need to establish (eventually) is a website or two. So getting familiar with how to us a website building package called ‘WordPress’ will provide you with essentially all the tools you will eventually need to build your first website. (Once you’re finally ready -of course)
4) Work out areas, or topics that really interest you, or that you are passionate, or very knowledgeable about. It makes it so much easier to build a business around an area that you love, or know a lot about
5) Once your 2-3 weeks is up, you will then need to look to research your selected market. Pick out some products that you believe in, and that the research has shown you, there is a good, sizable market for, but in doing this be careful not to go too generalized. The deeper you can delve into a specific niche of a market, the more success you will experience
Once you’ve reached this point, you will be ready to start joining some Affiliate programs in readiness to start marketing their products online, where you receive a commission for any resulting sales. Join a few Affiliate programs, and also have a look at some of the Affiliate Merchants like Clickbank, Commission Junction to name a few, and get a feeling for the types of expectations you should expect, with regards to commission payment rates, popularity rates, and so on.
This has been a very simplistic outline to help you get started (as a newbie) towards creating your own Affiliate Marketing business.
Step by Step Tips on How to Make Money As an Affiliate on the Internet
Jan 17th
How to make money as an Affiliate is a common question asked by many budding entrepreneurs looking to create an income earning Internet Business, and whilst their is an absolute plethora of gurus out in the market telling you that their system is the ‘must have’ system to make money on the Internet, the truth of the matter is there is no ‘one size fits all’ type of system. Becoming an Affiliate Marketer, and developing it into a true online business over time, can be one of the most financially rewarding ventures you will ever undertake, and also providing you with an immense lifestyle freedom that is unsurpassed
Assuming you have a basic understanding of the Internet, and how to navigate your way around (I’m presuming this, as you’re obviously reading this article, and must have navigated your way to get here) the web, if you have the desire and passion to be an information product marketer on the internet, then these are the following steps you need to undertake (These are the basics, and further information about more detailed processes and techniques to follow are available by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page) to get your business off the ground.
1) Ensure you have the right mind set from the outset. Many people get involved in Internet Marketing with the belief that they only have to do a few things, press a few buttons, and bingo, the cash will start rolling in forever. Starting up your own Internet marketing Business is just as difficult, and requires just as much effort as creating an offline business. The mindset you need to have from the outset is that you are going to be creating and building a business, and that this will involve a reasonable time commitment from you.
2) Investigate, and Identify a Market Segment that interests you. It’s best that you get involved in an Industry or market that holds some interest (or better still some passion) to you, otherwise your interest will wane, and you’ll end up giving up on it before you achieve any success. During the investigation process, try to identify a niche within your chosen market, and then try and identify even deeper sub-niches of the main niche you have chosen. This is important as it will minimise your competition, and also enhance your conversions because the people that visit your site will relate to the sub niche as if you are talking directly to them, rather than trying to cover the major niche which will result in lost opportunities, as well as also being intensely competitive.
3) Find a suitable product to promote that fits with your sub-niche. Make sure it is a quality product that you are happy to promote, and sell to your clients. Once you have identified this product you need to become a ’sales rep’ for this product, or in other words an ‘Affiliate’.There are many Affiliate marketing companies out there that offer Affiliate Programs from many vendors, such as Clickbank, Commission Junction, to name a couple. Once you have joined a program, applied to sell some products, the next thing you need is a website presence.
4) Getting a website up and running used to be an expensive and time consuming exercise, however these days it isnt. You can get a website presence up and working in a matter of minutes through sites like Squidoo, Weebly, and Hubpages which cost you nothing to start with, however eventually you will require your own domain name, and some website hosting services. (This gives you more control, as it is usually better to own and control the virtual real estate, than to effectively only rent it) The cost of website hosting is minimal and for what you will need to start off shouldn’t cost you any more than about $50-$100 for the whole year. Often this will also enable you to have unlimited domain names (and hence affiliates businesses) hosted by the host, you just need to purchase the domain names to be hosted, and depending on what you decide here, you can obtain domain names from as little as $1 from some cheap domain name providers like GoDaddy.
5) Once the website has been built, and is live (whether this is your own domain or a Squidoo type page) you then need to begin marketing it so that it receives traffic. This is the lifeblood of your Internet Marketing Business because without traffic, you effectively have a business with no customers. There are many ways to obtain ‘organic’ traffic; this is traffic that arrives from the Search Engines through natural searching and search engine optimization. Then there is Paid Traffic which come from Advertising like Google AdWords, Banner Adds, Pay per click, etc. To start your business off initially I always suggest you begin with the Organic type of traffic, as this is free traffic, and it means your business starts off profitably. You can always reinvest your profits into advertising later.

What are the Essential Tools Required in Learning to be Successful as an Affiliate Marketer -Part One
Jan 13th
Becoming a successful Internet Marketer, or Affiliate Marketer, requires the use of a few key tools to make your life easier, and to also save yourself a lot of time. I’ve listed some of the typical tools I use, and I’ve added an optional beside the title if it’s a tool you can pretty much get away without having, although they would be a ‘nice to have’
1) Website and Domain names. Initially when starting out as an Apprentice Affiliate, you can probably get started using various Web 2.0 site options. (Things like Squidoo lenses, and Hubpages) However these will limit what you can create yourself, and so having complete control over your own Internet Real Estate is essential. The best and cheapest option for obtaining the cheapest Domain names is Go Daddy, where you can get .info domains for as little as $0.89 with Godaddy. When it comes to selecting the actual ending suffix of a domain name (ie whether you for a .com, .net, .info, etc) it actually doesn’t make any difference to the search engines when it comes to ranking your site during Searches, although it can count when and if you ever decide to sell the domain (or website) and also when people remember your brand but not your suffix. They will often just search for the.com option first, which potentially means you could lose out on some good free traffic, and obviously some potential business as well.
When buying some Domain names though GoDaddy, just ignore all the hoops, and up-sells they put in your way during the buying process.
2) Website Hosting. Being an Affiliate Marketer with a bunch of cheap domain names requires a home, and certainly requires you to have a webhosting company that will host your various sites. The cost of web hosting these days is cheap (compared to what it used to cost) and there are a number of various web hosts that will offer to store an ‘unlimited’ number of websites for you for less than $100 for the whole year. It’s important to use a respectable web host that has been around for some time, and that a lot of other Affiliate Marketers use. Avoid the absolute cheapest Web hosts as the chances are they offer no support, (which is still essential from time to time) Some of the more well respectable web hosts around that can offer you good value for money are:
* Bluehost (This company is recommended by WordPress.org as the best host for bloggers)
* Justhost
